The animated series "Alvin and the Chipmunks" was created by Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Karman. It tells the story of Alvin, Simon and Theodore, as well as the Esquilettes, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor. The first series of the trilogy, "The Alvin Show", aired on 4 October 1961, with its last episode airing on 12 September 1962. The style used in the episodes was black and white, but this was later changed to colors. This series is very similar to "The Nutty Squirrels Present", which aired a year earlier.
